Ganevat Wine Dinner - “The Magician of the Jura”
SUNDAY, JANUARY 19TH
7 courses with full wine pairings - $300/pp
7-course tasting menu featuring wines from jean-francois ganevat - "the magician of the jura".
Jean-François Ganevat is a renowned winemaker based in Rotalier, France, celebrated for his natural wines and pioneering biodynamic practices in the vineyard and cellar. As the 14th generation of winemakers in his family, he is a master of natural wine vinification, having previously served as cellar master at Domaine Jean-Marc Morey in Chassagne-Montrachet before returning to his family's estate in 1998.
Ganevat employs a biodynamic approach with no added sulfur and minimal intervention, emphasizing single-parcel selection for most cuvées. He produces up to 30 cuvées annually from various grapes, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Trousseau and Savagnin, along with near lost indigenous varietals of the Jura. Ganevat and his sister Anne collaborate through their own separate label, Anne and Jean Francois Ganevat, acquiring grapes from vignerons who share their vision as well as from Anne’s own vineyards in Beaujolais.
Ganevat wines are relatively rare and highly sought after. His mentorship and guidance has reverberated throughout the natura wine community and has influenced many young winemakers such as Katie Worobeck and Nicolas Jacob.
His meticulous practices and creative approach are interesting in both a technical and emotional level, a great balance of artistry and craft. We are so excited to be able to share this with you!
